Kim has owned and operated several businesses over the last 35 years from start-ups to medium and large SME’s.
He has also served as Director and/or Chairman of a number of private and public companies.
Kim’s career was initially focussed on agriculture in North Queensland and since the late 1980’s in fresh produce marketing and distribution as well as developing export markets in Asia. Kim has also been involved in property development, road transport and commodity trading as well as business and trade finance.
Kim won the Premiers Small Business Development Awards (Certificate of Merit) for the development of green sugar cane harvesting techniques in North Queensland as well as developing direct exports of produce from Queensland.
He also won the Metway Bank Queensland Enterprise Workshop Award in 1995.
Kim was appointed to the Board of The Queensland Chamber of Fruit and Vegetable Industries in 1996 and was appointed President in 1997. Kim was instrumental in initiating negotiations with the Queensland Government for the privatisation of Brisbane Produce Markets. He was the initial Chairman of the negotiating committee and a Director of Landacq Ltd during this time. Kim was also a Director of the Australian Chamber of Fruit and Vegetable Industries and served as Chairman for 3 years receiving the Meritorious Service Award for service to the Industry.
In addition, Kim was a Director of Australian United Fresh and a Director of Horticulture Industry Development Council.
Kim founded and was a Director of Speedy Pay Pty Ltd, a trade finance business. He consulted to several other trade, commercial and mortgage finance businesses.
Kim is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.
